Trip to Orsa Grönklitt, Dalarna, Thursday December 10th to Sunday December 13th 2025. Open to ESIK members and family and friends.
We will stay in cabins that are 3 rooms with 6 sharing and some in 8-bed cabins. The cost for the trip covers a bed, cleaning and the snow guarantee (money is paid back if there is no snow). You can indicate if you want to share the cabin with named people when you register.
Note: Due to several years of not adjusting the costs, we are faced with a 200 kr increase per person. We hope that people still feel that this is a good deal, as we do what we can to keep this reasonable. Cost for Ericsson employee 1050 and non-Ericsson 1350). For ease organising 1 Ericsson person per booking can add a max of 3 non-Ericsson. Ideally we would appreciate only one person per booking, as it lowers the admin.
Travel to and from Orsa is in private cars. Please state if you are taking a car and if you have frees seats. We compile a list to share later to help people find a seat and this usually works well. The orgnaisers do not find a seat for you, we self-organise. You agree with the driver how to pay for fuel and when you will be leaving. The drive to Orsa is around 5 hours, some stop in Valbo near Gävle on in Orsa to buy food (this is agreed with the driver as some purchase food before leaving home).
Cabins are well equipped. A cabin leader is appointed who organises meals and who brings what to have a nice weekend. Some arrange dinner groups for the evening meals. These dinners are fun. There will be an email group for each cabin and then you agree amongs yourselves how to organise.
If you are a complete beginner
Contact Dominic and we will organise some help to get started, as paying for a course is expensive if you have never skied before. We will help you.
COACHING: Tynell Activity will provide coaching for CLASSIC or SKATE/Freestyle. These are different, though the costs are the same. We hope to have enough people doing skate /freestyle. There is an additional cost for this, ESIK members SEK 2200, and for non-Ericsson 2500.
Rikard is a great teacher and clearly explains how you can improve and become a better skier. The course is aimed at both beginners and experienced skiers. Depending on the number of participants, the course will run from Friday to Sunday or Friday to Saturday (if there are fewer participants). (Same number of instruction hours regardless.)
Skate: Technique session covering all 5 gears, cornering, and downhill skiing.
Classic: Technique session with diagonal stride, double poling, changing tracks, cornering, and downhill skiing.
During the course, you will also be filmed and receive individual feedback. On the last day, those who want will get 15 minutes of one-on-one ski coaching.
At this early point in the season, it's especially beneficial to get your technique in order — it makes skiing both more enjoyable and easier for the rest of the winter.
For those of you who haven't tried skate skiing yet — it's a lot of fun, so take the opportunity to learn something new!
NOTE: If you are paying for additional people, set the number and add the names at the bottom. You can then agree with your friend to transfer money to you. We hope this is easier. People from outside usually join with an ESIK friend. We hope this is clear. If not, see contact below.
Book early so we avoid paying for beds we don't use as we calculate costs on full use. We will appoint a cabin leader (stugvärd) who will coordinate food, bringing things like kitchen towels, spices, candles and so on.
Everyone brings their own bedlinen and towels.
