Trip to Orsa Grönklitt, Dalarna, Thursday December 11th to Sunday December 14th 2025. Open to ESIK members and family and friends. The cost of the trip is 850 per ESIK member (employee or Ericsson pensioner) and 1150 per person otherwise.
We will stay in cabins that are 3 rooms with 6 sharing and some in 8-bed cabins. The cost for the trip covers a bed, cleaning and the snow guarantee (money is paid back if there is no snow). You can indicate if you want to share the cabin with named people when you register.
Travel to and from Orsa happens in private cars. We ask people to state if they are taking a car and if they have room to take others. Each person is responsible for finding a seat in a car. You contact the drivers. We will set up an excel with names and cars to make this easier. We need some time to compile that list. You agree with the driver how to pay for fuel. The times for leaving Stockholm/Kista and returning are agreed with the driver, but you can indicate if you want to travel early on Thursday, or in the afternoon. The drive to Orsa is around 5 hours, some stop in Valbo near Gävle to buy food (this is agreed with the driver as some purchase food before leaving home).
The cabins are well equipped. A cabin leader is appointed who organises meals and who brings what to have a nice weekend. Some have a dinner groups for the evening meals. These dinners are fun. There will be an email group for each cabin and then you agree amongst yourselves how to organise.
COACHING: Tynell Activity will provide coaching for CLASSIC or SKATE/Freestyle. These are different, though the costs are the same. We hope to have enough people doing skate /freestyle. There is an additional cost for this, ESIk members SEK 2050, and for non-Ericsson 2350.
Feedback from previous years has been very positive. Rikard is a great teacher and clearly explains how you can improve and become a better skier. The course is aimed at both beginners and experienced skiers. Depending on the number of participants, the course will run from Friday to Sunday or Friday to Saturday (if there are fewer participants). (Same number of instruction hours regardless.)
Skate: Technique session covering all 5 gears, cornering, and downhill skiing.
Classic: Technique session with diagonal stride, double poling, changing tracks, cornering, and downhill skiing.
During the course, you will also be filmed and receive individual feedback. On the last day, those who want will get 15 minutes of one-on-one ski coaching.
At this early point in the season, it's especially beneficial to get your technique in order — it makes skiing both more enjoyable and easier for the rest of the winter.
For those of you who haven't tried skate skiing yet — it's a lot of fun, so take the opportunity to learn something new!
Rikard Tynell
In addition to being a cross-country skiing coach at Tynell Activity, Rikard has been working as a ski instructor at Mora Ski High School since 2018. Rikard was a professional long-distance skier, with his most notable achievement being a victory in the Ski Classics, as well as several top-15 finishes in the long-distance World Cup. He ended his active career in 2019.
NOTE: If you are paying for additional people you set the number and add the names at the bottom. You can then agree with your friend to transfer money to you. We hope this is easier. People from outside usually join with an ESIK friend. We hope this is clear. If not, see contact below.
Please book early so we don't have capacity that we don't use as this will only make trips more expensive if we don't fill beds. We will appoint a cabin leader (stugvärd) who will coordinate food, bringing things like kitchen towels, spices, candles and so on.
Everyone brings their own bedlinen and towels.
