Competition rollerskiing - Täljerullen Sept 13th - Are you interested?

Do you want to join a cool rollerski race in Södertälje on the 13th of September? It will be on a closed 4 km track in Södertäjje. It is the district championship for Stockholm.

This is orgnanised by NackaVarmdö Skidor. It is a seeding race for Vasaloppet. The cost is 600 for competition and 650 for elite. You can seed up to SL3 in Vasaloppet. I think this is great as there is no traffic and this is the test track for trucks in Södertälje. They are expecting 100-300 rollerskiers.

To register as Elite you need to have been top 2300 in VL in the last 3 years. Elite will ski on rollerskis provided (limit of 70).

If you do register, please PM Dominic McAleenan, and we can try can organise common transport. It is not often we can compete in a race closed to traffic. This is a ten lap race, 40 km.

This can be a lot of fun and if it is well attended it will be an annual event. We do not have so many races of this kind in the Stockholm region.

Haven't heard from anyone yet. I will do this. Great to rollerski with no cars on a big track wiht great road surface. Still time though. Who wants to join me?

Have to say this was a tough race. 640 m climb over 40 km is a lot. Winner was 19 years old. The 3rd placed guy was an Italian who was 29th in Vasaloppet. So the quality of the field was impressive. I came 55th of 68. 2 hr 31 minutes. 55 minutes behind the winner at 55 years of age.

All I know is that I am closer to people in this race than the time in Vasaloppet. But i was not at all chasing seeding as I only started rollerskiing again on August 7th after 5 year break. I'll let you know Ulf.

Seeding from the race was not good at all. I have 4 from VL and got 6 here.... and I think that is bad even though I know I am better on snow. Compated to Värnamorullen this was much tougher and the winner there was 99 in VL and last weekend the 3 place guy was 29.... So I don't know at all how they have calculated.
